PLEASE BE ADVISED:  If you purchase a shore excursion through the cruise line, you are not guaranteed that the ship will not leave should you encounter an unforeseen delay during your tour, though the chances of this occurring is less likely.  If you purchase your excursion from an independent supplier (not purchased through the cruise line) or if you head out to explore on your own, the odds of the ship waiting for you is quite low.  If the ship sails it will be your responsibility (financial and otherwise) to arrange to meet the ship at the next port-of-call.
